    As a buyer you can pay for your items using your credit card or PayPal balance. Your seller receives payment immediately. Sellers can then withdraw those funds to their bank account or use the PayPal balance to pay another seller. It's that simple.

    To open a PayPal Account go to and click Sign Up.

    First select the type of Account you want. If you want to send payments through PayPal, select a Personal Account and enter your details. If you want to receive credit card payments, select a Premier account. A Premier account enables you to accept credit card payments for a small fee.

    To confirm your registration, PayPal will send an email to the email address you have registered. Click the relevant link in this email and you will be taken to the PayPal website automatically. PayPal will prompt you to enter your password to confirm that you are the owner of the email address you have registered. Now you can send and receive money with PayPal.

    You will be given sending and withdrawing limits on your PayPal account, but you can lift these by enrolling in the Expanded Use Programme, which is very straightforward.

    There are two ways to pay for your eBay items with PayPal

    a. eBay Checkout
    When you have won or bought an item on eBay, you will receive an End of Transaction email. Simply click on the Pay Now button, select PayPal as your payment method and follow the steps to complete eBay's checkout process. If you don't have a PayPal account you will be able to register at this point.

    b. PayPal Account
    Alternatively you can send payment directly from your PayPal Account. Log in to your PayPal account and click Send Money. You will need to enter the eBay item ID in order to pay your eBay seller. If you have not done so already, enter your credit card details to fund an immediate payment.

    When you are completing eBay's Sell Your Item form, select PayPal as a payment option in the payments and postage section. Just tick the box next to PayPal and add the email address registered with your PayPal account and this payment option will appear in your eBay listings.

    When you receive a PayPal payment for an eBay item, PayPal sends a "You've Got Cash!" email. This email details who is sending you the money and the payment amount. To review the transaction details, click "View details of the transaction online" and log in to your PayPal account.

    Next, you may click "Create a Packing Slip", attach the printed slip to your eBay item and send it to the buyer. Finally, leave Feedback for your buyer.

    Alternatively, you can request money. To do so, log in to your PayPal account and click Request Money. Enter the relevant details and your buyer will receive and email request for the specified amount right away.
