Starting 22nd September 2009, all new tickets for events listed in the Tickets category on eBay will require the date of the event to be included as a custom item specific. This will help make matching up the right tickets, to the right buyers on the right date much easier.
Tickets listed before 22nd September will not be affected. Sellers listing tickets after 22nd September that don’t have an event date included will be prompted to add one.
TAKE ACTION
- From 22nd September 2009 include the event date for any tickets you list in the Tickets category
- For tickets of events that took place in the past, consider using the Collectibles category
- Take a look at our checklist to ensure your business is covered for these changes.
Does the messaging also work for 3rd party providers?
Yes, for most of them, but in single cases sellers may receive only an error message, but with direction to the mandatory field.
What can sellers do if they don’t have an event date on their ticket?
Tickets of events that took place in the past should be listed in the Collectibles category. For ticket vouchers sellers should use the appropriate voucher category where the event date is not mandatory.
