The number of categories in which you must list your item with a matching product from the eBay catalogue has increased.
Using the catalogue helps makes it faster and easier for buyers to find your listings, so start listing and relisting with matching products now.
From 2 May 2012, if your listing doesn't match with a product from the eBay catalogue where it's available, you risk your listing being removed and losing sales.

Thesecategories have been added to the existing categories in which you must list your items with matching products:
Byusing the eBay catalogue, you can choose to add pre-filled product information, such as category, item specifics and stock photos. This means you'll spend less time writing item descriptions and sourcing photos.
Using the EAN as part of the eBay catalogue allows listings to appear in a wider range of channels, including Google product search, meaning a larger audience for your listings.
We're also improving the way we use the information provided in item descriptions. This means that keyword search terms used by customers will help result in better matched listings.

You should check all your existing listings in relevant categories (including Good 'Til Cancelled). It's easy to check your listings using the catalogue adoption tool.
As new products are added to the catalogue, you must match existing listings to the new product when you relist.

Just list as normal and follow good listing practice, including providing the EAN if you have it.Your listing will show in search results pages along with other listings grouped by product. It won't show on a product page as it hasn't been matched to a particular product in the catalogue.
Still list using a matching product from the eBay catalogue, but remove the incorrect product information, then clarify the right ones in the listing description. If you see an error in the catalogue, you can submit a change request when you are listing your item.
