What is it?

From 12th March 2009, private sellers pay no Insertion Fee per item that they list, providing they list the item using the auction-style format in an eligible category and set a starting price of €1.49 or less. Please note that we've also revised Final Value Fees. We've simplified the previous tiered structure and Final Value Fees for private sellers are now 10% of the final selling price, up to a maximum of €50.

When is it?

0c insertion fee for auction style listings with a starting price of up to €1.49 starts 12th March 2009, 00:00:01 GMT.

What's included?

• Only items listed by private sellers in in Euros on eBay.ie using the Auction-style format are included.
• Any item previously scheduled to go live on 12th March 2009 will qualify for new insertion fee.
• If you re-list an item on 12th March 2009 that had previously closed without a successful sale, the re-list will qualify for the new insertion fee. If the re-listed item sells and is eligible under the eBay re-list policy, eBay will refund the Insertion Fee.
• Items listed in the 'Parts & Accessories' sub-categories of the Motors Category are included.
• Items listed in the following media categories: Books, Comics & Magazines (excluding the Accessories sub-category), DVDs, Film and TV (excluding the Accessories/Storage, Film Memorabilia and TV Memorabilia sub-categories), the Games sub-category of Video Games (change does not apply to the other sub-categories of Video Games) and the Music category (excluding the Music Memorabilia and Accessories/ Storage sub-categories).
• If you choose to list your item in a second category, and that category also offers free Insertion Fees, there will be no extra charge. Fees for any listing upgrades you select will however be doubled.
• If you list an item as an auction with Buy it Now (BIN), we still consider it to be in auction-style format. The Final Value Fee will therefore be calculated as a flat 10% of the selling price, regardless of how the item is purchased. Additional charges for the BIN upgrade will apply.

What's excluded?

• Items listed in the Fixed Price format and items listed by sellers who are registered as a Business Seller. The new 0c Insertion Fee is limited to Private Sellers using the Auction-style format only.
• Items listed before 12th March 2009 and sold after that date will be charged the Final Value Fee that was in effect before 12th March 2009.
• Items listed in any Motors category except for those listed in the 'Parts & Accessories' sub-categories of the Motors category (as detailed in the 'What's Included' section above).
• Items listed in the "Residential Property" sub-category of the "Home & Garden" category.
• Items listed in the "Mobile Phones with Contract" sub-category of the "Mobile & Home Phones" category.
• The new 0c insertion fee is not applicable for Multiple-Item listings in any format. However, the new final Value Fee applies to all Multiple-Item auction listings by Private Sellers. Read more about Multiple-Item listings.
• Identical listings that do not comply with our Duplicate Listings policy.
• Any items listed which do not comply with our Listing Policies or Prohibited and Restricted Items Policies.
• Please note that all other eBay fees will still apply, including but not limited to Final Value Fees, optional Reserve Price Fees and all Listing Upgrade Fees such as "Gallery", "Subtitle", "Bold" or "Highlight". Full details about eBay fees.
