Legal notice and fee changes

We're making big changes to eBay.ie on 24^th September 2008 and they could affect the way you're currently trading on the site.

We'd like to take you through the changes in greater detail.

Fee changes

From 25th September, we're revising fees for Auction and Buy It Now listings, Shops subscriptions and listing upgrades. Please note that the eBay.co.uk Shops fees apply only to Shops opened on eBay.co.uk.

Free Gallery

We're happy to confirm that we are removing the 20c fee for the Gallery listing upgrade. This makes permanent the promotion that was due to end on 30th September 2008.

Success-based fees

Overall, we are continuing our commitment to moving the cost of selling an item on eBay.ie away from the front-end insertion fee and increasing the final value fees, so that the majority of fees are paid only when you successfully sell an item.

Fees to fit your business

We are also providing more tailored pricing options to fit the different sizes and business models of Shop owners and Buy It Now format sellers. This will help provide a more vibrant market place with even greater choice for buyers and greater opportunities for all sellers.

Insertion fees for Buy It Now listings

Note:

• All new fee amounts listed in the table above also apply to listings with multiple identical items in Buy It Now format (colour variations are permitted).
• If you list an item which does not sell, or if your buyer does not pay, you may qualify for a credit of your insertion fees. This will only apply to auction listings, and not Buy It Now listings.

Removal of Shop Inventory Format

eBay will be retiring the Shop Inventory format and replacing it with Buy It Now. We will also be extending the listing duration available with Buy It Now to 30 days or Good 'Til Cancelled.

You can sign up for 1 of 3 tiers of Shops: Basic, Featured or Anchor.

New criteria to sign up for a Shop

If you wish to subscribe to an eBay Shop, you will need to meet the following requirements from 24th September 2008:

Basic Shop:

• Be a registered private or business seller on eBay and
• Have a minimum Feedback score of 10, or
• Be PayPal Verified

Featured Shop:

• Be a registered business seller on eBay and
• Be PayPal Verified and
• Maintain a 12-month average Detailed Seller Ratings score of 4.4 or above in each of the four areas

Anchor Shop:

• Be a registered business seller on eBay and
• Be PayPal Verified and
• Maintain a 12-month average Detailed Seller Ratings score of 4.6 or above in each of the four areas

Upgrading, downgrading and cancelling your Shop

Note: Shop subscriptions are for a minumum 30-day period.

Upgrading

When upgrading your Shop to a higher tier, the new subscription level is effective immediately and the higher subscription fee will apply from the day you sign up.

Downgrading

If you wish to downgrade your Shop, please note the following:

• Shops subscriptions are for a minimum 30-day period. If you downgrade within this period, you will be billed for the entire 30 days. If you downgrade after 30 days, the subscription that you pay in respect of the post-30 day period will be pro-rated, and any overpayment will be reflected in a later invoice.
• All Good 'Til Cancelled Buy It Now listings will renew at the new Shop tier's fee rate immediately.

Cancelling

If you wish to cancel your Shop, please note the following:

• Shops subscriptions are for a minimum 30-day period, and you will be billed for the entire 30 days if you cancel within this period. Subscriptions cancelled after the 30-day period will be pro-rated over the days of the month, and any overpayment will be reflected in a later invoice.
• All of your current Buy It Now listings will end automatically.
• Feature fees you have incurred will not be reimbursed.

eBay will be taking Detailed Seller Ratings (DSRs) into greater consideration when determining the following:

• Featured First - a new feature which will allow users to enhance the visibility of their items in search results
• Requirements to open an eBay Shop
• Ranking in search results

The table below shows the minimum 12-month average DSR scores you have to maintain to qualify for the various features.

Important: Failure to maintain these requirements will affect your Shops subscription. If you fail to maintain the requisite DSR level, you could be downgraded to a lower Shop tier with a different fee structure.

Shops subscriptions are for a minimum 30-day period. If you are downgraded within this period, you will be billed for the entire 30 days. If you have been downgraded after 30 days, the subscription that you pay in respect of the post-30 day period will be pro-rated, and any overpayment will be reflected in a later invoice.

The placement of your listing in search results will be affected by your Detailed Seller Ratings score and the number of items you sell from a single Buy It Now listing.

The more items you sell, the more likely that listing is to appear higher up in search results. Learn more about multiple-item listings.
