Review key metrics
On the same line as each listing, you'll see key metrics that tell you how the listing is doing.
Rank – Rank is the search placement of your listing with respect to other listings. The rank number is the result of a search using the keywords that you entered in the listing analytics search box. Buyers may use different search words.
Format – Format describes whether an item is offered through an auction-style listing or a fixed price listing (Buy it Now).
Impressions – Impressions are the number of times your listing appears to potential buyers in a search.
Clicks – Clicks are the number of times buyers clicked on your listing in search to view your listing.
Click through – Click through is the number of clicks divided by the number of impressions. A higher click through rate is better, meaning members were more likely to click on your item when they saw it in a search.
Sold items – Sold items are the number of times buyers purchased an item from your listing. This number will only be greater than one when your listing is a multiple quantity fixed price listing.
Sell through – Sell through is the number of items that sold divided by the number of clicks for your listing. A higher sell through rate is better, meaning members were more likely to buy your item when they clicked to view your listing.
Watchers – Watchers are the total number of members watching your listing.
Sales – Sales is the value of items sold in a listing.
The information you receive doesn't include numbers from the past 24 to 48 hours. Because of the delay, if you make a change to a listing, we recommend you wait a few days before measuring your listing's performance again. Rank information is real-time.
What should I do if my item has a low impression count?
Your item may be new and has not yet been seen by many buyers
Buyers may not be searching for your item
Tips for improving your click & sell through rates
Tips for improving click through rate:
If your listing has a low click through rate, compared to others, it might be that it is not as well presented on the Search Result Page and therefore doesn’t draw attention to it:
Price competitively and be clear about shipping costs
Use high quality pictures
Use item specifics, especially item condition
List in a different format
Tips for improving sell through rate:
If your listing has a low sell through rate, compared to others, it might be that your potential buyer does not get all desired information in your view item page.
Include more and large pictures
Make sure your the title fits the product
Keep the information consistent within the item description. A common mistake is specifying shipping costs while listing, but then showing a different amount in the item description.
Offer multiple shipping options, including free or discounted shipping. Buyers want choice and offering a shipping discount may encourage buyers to buy additional items from you.
Include a clear return and refund policy
Focus on customer satisfaction. Check your seller Dashboard and the detailed ratings performance reports on a regular basis. Go to your Seller Dashboard now
The tips for click through rate also affect sell through rate
Identify best and worst performers
You can click on the headings above a column to sort best and worst performing listings by that topic:
For example, if you click the Sold items heading, your listings will be sorted by those that sold the most to those that sold the least. By sorting by column headings, you'll quickly be able to tell which listings are performing best or worst.
If you click a column heading a second time, the sort order will be reversed.
Compare your listings against the top 5 listings of other sellers:
The numbers you see in the top 5 are averages of the numbers from the top 5 fixed price format listings, based on a search with the keywords you entered.
When you enter different keywords in the search box, different listings will show up in the top 5 and you may see different numbers.
This comparison can help you identify areas, where the listing performance is noticeably lower than other listings.
In the case that one of your listings is within the top 5 we will not show you the benchmark data. You can just use your top performing listing and use it as a benchmark.
