Selling on the eBay International Market

What is eBay International Market?

eBay International Market (eIM) comprises buy-only sites in the following countries:

eIM site users can:

  • Buy fixed price items listed on eBay.de (Germany), eBay.co.uk (UK) and eBay.com (US).

  • Search for or browse items in their own languages as well as see the prices in local currencies.

  • Pay with PayPal only.

What are the benefits of selling to eIM buyers?

  • You can reach millions of buyers in the countries listed above.

  • You don't have to create separate listings for individual countries.

  • You list once on eBay.com, eBay.co.uk or eBay.de and listings are visible to eIM buyers.

  • You don't pay extra fees for visibility of listings to eIM buyers.

What you have to do to sell to eIM buyers

Check if you meet the following seller requirements:
  • Minimum Feedback score of 10.

  • eBay account in good standing.

  • Verified PayPal account.

2.
List your fixed price items on eBay.com, eBay.co.uk or eBay.de and specify:
  • International postage service and cost.

  • PayPal as a payment method.

What you should know about international postage

  1. Postage services
    • Specify the postal service (Royal Mail or courier), as items with this information could attract more buyers.

    • Consider offering Express Mail Service (EMS) supported services.

  2. Postage costs vary greatly depending on:
    • Distance (location you post from and to)

    • Postage service (for example, airmail, next-day delivery)

    • Weight and dimensions of the package

  3. Insurance:
    • Packages being sent internationally should be insured.

    • Check if your postal service provides automatic coverage and its level of coverage.

    • If the item is damaged due to inadequate packaging, the postal service may not cover damages.

  4. Customs and documentation:
    • All international packages must clear customs in the destination country.

    • You'll need to complete the appropriate customs forms.

    • Check if your postal service operator deals with all customs clearance formalities.

How to specify international postage

To specify international postage:
  1. In the Give buyers postage details section of the selling form click the Add or remove options link.

  2. Under International postage, select Show international services and options and click Save.

  3. Under International postage, select the locations you want to post to and your postage options and costs.
