To help increase buyer confidence in the stamps, currency, and coins listed on eBay, we've established a set of guidelines for our sellers to follow. These guidelines cover what can and can't be sold on eBay and the requirements for certain listings:
Most countries strictly prohibit the sale of counterfeit currency and stamps as well as equipment designed to make them. Therefore, these types of items can't be listed on eBay.
We do allow replica stamps to be listed as long as sellers follow certain rules, which are explained below.
Make sure your listing follows these guidelines. If it doesn't, it may be removed, and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including limits of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.
What are the guidelines?
Listings for bullion must follow these guidelines:
Replica, copy, fake, plated or clad bullion isn't allowed, including items described as "German silver" or "nickel silver".
Accurately describe the precious metal weight content, purity (fineness) and brand (refiner or mint) of your bullion item.
If an item includes an assay card or certificate of authenticity (COA) then the seller must show a valid picture and accurately describe the packaging.
Include a photo of both sides of the actual coin, bar or other item being sold and be sure you are authorised to use the photo. Stock photos and images that are dark, out of focus, edited or misleading aren't allowed.

Replica stamps may be listed as long as:
The item is clearly marked as a replica in a way that can't be removed.
The listing includes a picture that clearly shows this mark.
The listing clearly states in the title and item description that the item is a replica.
Trial euros and euro medals and tokens may be sold if they meet EU guidelines.
Not allowed
Replica coins
Replica, plated or clad bullion
Counterfeit coins
Counterfeit banknotes
Novelty banknotes
Counterfeit bonds
Counterfeit money orders
Counterfeit securities
Equipment used to make counterfeit items
Counterfeit stamps
The sale of currency currently in circulation that may require registration with or the granting of a licence from a regulatory body
Virtual currency must be listed in the Classified Ad format in the Coins > Virtual Currency > Currency category. These requirements apply regardless of whether the virtual currency is digitally or physically delivered. Examples of items subject to this policy include Bitcoins, Litecoins and other similar cryptocurrencies.
Keep the following guidelines in mind when you're listing coins, paper money and stamps:
Include all relevant information that you know about the item, such as origin, date of issue and condition.
Include a clear picture of the actual item being sold – don't use only stock pictures.
Include all information about any alterations that may have been made to the item or flaws that can’t be seen in the listing picture.
Individually identify every item listed to avoid misunderstandings about what is for sale.
Don't list the item if you're unsure of its origin or authenticity.
Don't make false or misleading claims of sales scarcity, value, condition or investment potential.
