Classified Ads PolicyClassified Ad listings give sellers a way to list items, services and property for sale to generate multiple leads or potential buyers in specific categories. For standard Classified Ad listings, contact information is allowed in a listing for both customer support purposes and solicitation of leads. Note: Contact information is only permitted in other types of eBay listings (auction-format, fixed price, etc.) for customer support purposes. The Examples section below shows examples of the types of listings or listing methods that specifically are not permitted in Classified Ad listings. Additional Information In addition to compliance with eBay listing policies, sellers must comply with the eBay Privacy Policy. This policy prohibits sellers from sharing the buyer’s contact information with other people, companies, and organisations. Sellers are also not permitted to use the buyer’s information for any purpose other than communicating with the buyer about the item, service, or property, unless the buyer has expressly permitted them to do so. Why does eBay have this policy? The Classified Ad listing category gives sellers a way to list items, services, or property for sale to generate multiple leads or potential buyers in specific categories. While this format does not enable buyers and sellers to complete transactions online through eBay, eBay’s policies continue to apply to maintain the trust and legitimacy of eBay’s marketplace. Additionally, even though offers to buy or sell outside of eBay are not always made with the intent to defraud, there is always risk involved. Please be aware that transactions resulting from Classified Ad listings that are conducted outside of the eBay platform are not eligible for:
