As a buyer, to avoid possible problems or misunderstandings, you should consider the postage & packaging (P&P) costs, handling time and other postage services before you bid on or buy an item. If the seller offers same business day handling, the seller will post on the same business day you buy your item, so long as they receive your payment by the specified cut off time.

Sometimes, sellers list two or more delivery services. Express delivery usually costs more, but can be useful if you need the item right away. If that's not what you need, see if you can choose a less expensive delivery service.

Tip: When you see the eBay FAST & FREE icon, it means that you should get the item within 3 working days with free delivery, based on the dispatch and delivery details provided by the seller.

Make sure that your postal address is accurate. You can change or add a postal address when you pay for an item using the Pay Now button.

Some sellers ask you to use a 'confirmed' delivery address when you purchase items with PayPal. Most addresses outside the U.S. can't be confirmed at this time. If a seller requires a confirmed address, we suggest you contact them directly.

When you pay for your item, you pay for P&P at the same time. If you have questions about the total cost of your item including P&P, you can request the total from the seller. To do so, click the Request total from seller link on the Review Your Item page when you use the Pay Now button to purchase your item.

You can select your delivery service in the Order Details section on the Review Your Item page. Click the Show all postage options link next to the Postage heading. Up to three different delivery options may be available for each item. The cost and estimated delivery times are displayed for each delivery option.

Some sellers offer to combine items into one package and offer a P&P discount. You'll see your P&P discounts when you purchase your item using the Pay Now button. If you have any questions about the amount, contact the seller.

Depending on the delivery service, you may be able to track your item. If the seller prints a postage label using eBay or PayPal, you can see the tracking number as well as the dispatch status of your item in My eBay.

If you have a problem with delivery, we recommend that you contact the seller and the delivery service. If you still haven't received the item, contact us so that we may help you work out the problem with the seller. Learn more about what to do if you don't receive your item.

Sellers can charge reasonable P&P fees to cover the costs for mailing, packaging, and handling the items that they sell. However, charging excessive fees for P&P violates our Selling practices policy. Review the item description carefully to make sure you understand what the P&P costs are.
