How can I build my reputation by creating my own content on eBay?

The best way to build your reputation is to share your knowledge and expertise with other members. Being known as an expert in a particular category can help attract buyers and sellers to your listings.

Where to post or publish

  • On your My World web page, show other members that you’re an expert in a particular area. As an eBay member, you’ll automatically receive a My World page.

  • Create a blog (a web log) to tell others about your shop, your favourite products, or a bit about you. Personalise your eBay blog as much as you like.

  • Join or start a Neighbourhood for your area of interest. It’s the perfect place to demonstrate your expertise by interacting with other interested members. If you use keywords or search tags whenever you post in your Neighbourhood, anyone searching for information on your topic will find you.

  • Write reviews and guides about individual items and about your area of interest. Remember, the more reviews you write, the higher your ranking

    as a reviewer.

  • Participate in the Answer Centre. Respond to questions about a topic, and add your comments to responses from others.

  • In Discussion Boards and Chats, start or join a discussion thread about a topic, or have a friendly chat with any number of people just like you.

  • Join or start an eBay Group to gather people who share your interest. Not only will you build your reputation, you’ll learn even more about your area of interest from your fellow group members.
