eBaymotors.co.uk DOES THE BUSINESS
9 February, 2005
Dealers and motor traders selling cars and parts on eBaymotors.co.uk can now register with eBay as a business and use company bank account details rather than a personal credit card. New users can simply register as a seller using their business name, while existing users can change their registration details so they can trade on eBay Motors under a business name and settle fees using a business bank account.
Business Registration is the latest in a series of developments designed to make it easier and faster for dealers to sell used vehicle stock on the UK's leading online marketplace. In November, eBay Motors linked with HPI Exchange, giving HPI subscribers the option to load vehicles onto eBaymotors.co.uk at no extra cost.
With over 10m registered users and more than two million visitors to eBay Motors each month, an increasing number of dealers are using eBaymotors.co.uk as an additional sales channel - especially those who need to shift ageing stock or unwanted part-exchanges.
"Previously, sellers had to register as individuals using a personal credit card," explained Clare Gilmartin, head of eBay Motors UK. "After listening to comments and feedback from our community, we introduced Business Registration to make selling on eBay even easier and help companies build up a trusted and solid reputation."
HPI Exchange automatically uploads most vehicle descriptions, images and specification data to eBaymotors.co.uk simply as a result of an HPI check. It makes the listing of vehicles on eBay quick and simple, saving dealers considerable time and effort.
Dealers registering for the first time should click 'Register Now' on the home page and choose the 'Register under your Business Name' option. Dealers already selling and wishing to change their registration details can log onto My eBay and select 'Addresses' from the options list on the left of the screen. Click the 'change' link next to Registration Address and then click 'Update your details to include your business name.'
